Aldo is an artist specialising in handcrafted Highland cow and animal portraits, created entirely from reclaimed timber. Each piece combines sustainable practices with artistic detail, turning salvaged wood into unique works of art that capture the strength and beauty of Scotland’s most iconic animals.
Each piece is carefully crafted by hand, with its own textures and character, so no two are ever the same. My aim is to create artwork that’s both sustainable and full of personality.

Original artworks

Every piece i create is my own design or idea, which i bring to life firstly as a drawing. Each drawing is then made into a template (my favourite part as this is when the creativity really starts ! ) The templates are then cut by hand before being transfered onto the appropriate wood, ready to be scrollsawed.

After around 15 to 20 hours of carving and sanding, the finish is applied, and the piece starts coming to life !

Each artwork takes at least 35 - 40 hours+

and no two artworks are ever the same, as each piece is made from recycled timber, giving new life to old wood.
